Ok so I am thinking of transferring to Reg force and armoured is the only thing that interests me.  I am in reserves and making good money doing my civi work however I really want to go Reg force but I need some guidance, or pursuasion some may say, to give up my civi job and my reserve position to go armoured reg force? Any takers? I can still do tours in reserve but I find myself missing the armed forces once back into civi world.

Thanks.

What do you want steaks and a signing bonus?

Look at all combat arms. They all offer something cool.

If we try to convince you then, ultimately, you try to do it for our reasons and not necessarily your own.  Investigate the pros and cons of the various trades you think you'd like (keep in mind there are always some you don't know as much about as you may think), the aspects of a military career (short or long term) and all of the other benefits and conditions that come with it.  Then, build your own case for, or against, going to the Reg Force.  It's a decision best made through your own analysis, folks here can clarify facts for you, but we shouldn't be trying to convince you one way or another.

Well I guess i did not word it properly. I mean for someone to clarify and give me more detail as to what the armoured lifestyle in reg force is all about. The videos on CFRC website does not give enough info.....I just want to know what I would be getting into with the armoured....95% positive I am wanting to transfer into armoured.

Very polite  ;D

Is there a relationship to
10.  For some reason, the Corps seems to end up with fantastic cooks.  Plus, your wagon has enough room for extra groceries, snacks and amenities to make field life a little more comfortable.

Go where you figure you'll fit best, agill. It's all part of the same team....and you don't have to gloat as you drive past dismounted infantry, spewing your diesel fumes, and dust or mud, with your timmies mugs steaming.....bastards.  ;)

Now I have an image I just can't get out of my head... of a Coyote getting wedged under a height restriction bar at a Tim Horton's drive thru... heh.

I've got a photographic image of an M113 and the height restriction bar from a McDonald's drive through. Sadly the Macca's height restriction bar is no longer connected to the Macca's and is half hanging out of the cargo hatch. Ah, B 3/4Cav, you and your crazy old antics...

Finding your job in this game is often something people struggle with. You'll met plenty who will tell you they'd never do anything else and plenty who blame recruiters for them having crappy lives. Get out there, have fun and do something you really want to. Talk to people, and make sure you do it for yourself and not for anyone else.
I love being armoured and wouldnt do anything different at this time in my life. i know blokes who would never consider getting into the drivers seat of an AFV  instead of bush bashing around with a Minimi hanging off them. I know blokes who laugh at all of us from the Q store and cant imagine doing what we do for a living. Theres so much scope and you can do anything you want.

I cannot talk for a Armored guy... I am not, But like Hale said, I could not imagine myself elsewere then supply.

who blame recruiters for them having crappy lives.

As for this...people are lazy...they will blame others easily for their life..you make what you want for your life.

What you could do, if there is a armored unit near you is to go see them, explain the situation to the guys down there and ask them about the job. I think that its the best way to find out.

I was lucky enough to have Vern and a Friend of mine telling me about supply tech and it suited me quite all right.

If I would ever go regs...perhaps I would think about Armored but in Pres...when I found out what they did..I was happy to have not chosen it.

Then there's always the go combat arms while the body is willing and later remuster out to a support trade.

baden I just finished Pres BMQ, and ill be doing my trade course next summer...Ill start with this.

And even if i wanted to join the Regs... I would have a major marital objection to it... And well I love my wife...and I choose to share my life with her..it implies some sacrifces :)
