Anyone know what unit is deploying troops overseas, via www.dnd.ca, says CFB Pet is sending 700 troops to Kabul?  Any idea's what units, reserve taskings, blah blah blah....

Cheers

Yes, I do because I am one of those 700.

If you are a reservist and  haven't yet been told you are going, it is highly unlikely that you are as the task force stood up today, and is training is well underway.

And its not any specific units, there are pers from every unit in Petawawa deploying (plug and play concept).

It is not usually a secret who is going overseas. In LFWA, to do the same mission LFCA is now taking on, we sent Recce Sqn LdSH(RC), 11 Fd Sqn(-) 1 CER, and B Coy/1PPCLI. I would expect to see the RCD, 2 CER and one of the RCR battalions kick in accordingly. Cheers.

There is a requirement for a D&S Platoon of reservists for Op Athena - but they are not deployed in Aghanistan

I might be possibly going. I'll know on friday.
dukes coy is going over.

So to more accurately answer your questons,

Dukes Coy of 1 RCR,
B Sqn RCD,
23 FD Sqn,
Sigs from 2 HQ & Sigs
support from 2 Svc Bn to the NSE,
2 Fd Amb for medical,

are the sub units,

It was supposed to be a 2 CER lead, but its now more of a 1 RCR/2 CER group. There is little involvement from 3 RCR but there are still individual mbrs from that Bn going. Majority of the pers on this mission did not go on roto 0.

Is there any chance of people coming to Pet on December 1st being part of Roto 3?
Namely, 2 HQ and Sigs?
Thanks

Snowball in hell

The TF stood up and is trg - unless you can get in as a spare and someone goes down during trg or the tour.
