Hi there and this is my first post. I just have a few questions any answer would be great  :)
I have filled out all the forums and passed my assessment test and I am currently on the waiting list. ( I have applied for ROTP as a combat engineer) My problem is that I didnt have great grades for highschool and my list on leader ship is also low. My recruiter told me that I was not likely to be picked for the program.

I am currently at University of Ottawa studying Mechanical Engineering.

Any suggestions? Past experience?

Ps. I would be more than happy to go into Mechanical engineering officer, Infantry ect

Regards Sam

Well... if you're not accepted, you're not accepted. Study harder? I don't know what else to say. Your post pretty much speaks for itself

If I recall correctly, leadership and academic potential are pretty important aspects of officer candidates. These attributes are measured in part through accomplishment. As you yourself have pointed out, you are not a particularly competitive applicant this year, but this does not preclude your correcting the deficiencies and re-applying next year with a stronger CV.

You Could also try to apply to a local Reserve unit, most if not all have some sort of financial help for education, if you have one available, and then later Down the road do a CT/OT once you have your degree, or during.

As this topic has been covered before, and can be found in the RMC Threads, this topic is LOCKED.
