I have read many people talking about the MGS.  People bringing to light good and bads things about the program and the Vehicle.  I have also read a lot about the Leopard.

My Question is, are you people sad to see the Leopard go, and begin to replaced by the MGS?

I know the Leopard is far past its prime, and the MGS may be a step up (I doubt it however), but the Leo has been with us for a long time and has served us well from what I know.

It isn't going anywhere just yet.  We have gone from having three squadrons in Lahr and one in Gagetown, to a sqn each in Gagetown, Valcartier, Petawawa and Calgary, to having them then in Valcartier, Petawawa,  and  two in Edmonton, to having one in Edmonton, one or two in Wainwright, a few still at the school in Gagetown, and the rest in storage/spare parts/disposal.

It remains a medium tank with a very good gunnery system. We may see it in regimental service up to another five years or so.

Yes we still have the Leopard, I know at the School here in Gagetown we still have 8 the rest are are at the LDSH and in Wainwright. So as for were your getting your info that there gone its incorrect but in fact they have been just shuffled around. Who really knows when they will leave for good. But when and if they do I know I will miss them.
