I am currently moving and putting things in storage (I won't have access to it for about 18 months).    I'll be going to Kingston sometime next summer and I heard the diving is good there.  I was wondering if I should bring my scuba gear with me or leave it in storage.  Anybody scuba dives or have dived over there?  If the diving community is good, I'll also have an easier time finding a diving partner.  Thanks in advance.  ;)

I know several people in Kingston who dive - there are some good wrecks out this way.

There is the Limestone Dive Center, and Diver City Charters if you like the chartered thing - and there are awesome wrecks in Prince Edward County (by Picton) and all over Lake Ontario.

I don't think you'd have any problem finding someone to dive with here.

Thank you muffin,

Carrying all my gear everywhere might be more troublesome then it is worth.  I've decided to put it in storage.  I'll just use this as an excuse to buy new gear in Kingston  ;D
I have taken note of the information you provided.  I will look into it when I get there.

When I was an Army Cadet, many moons ago, I took the summer Cadet SCUBA course at CFB Borden. We did a trip to RMC and dove Navy Bay. It was a riot. We found cannon balls and all kinds of crap. One of the guys found a sword and donated it to the RMC museum...worst part was the silt in the bottom...like freaking talcum powder, deep, soft and easily disturbed.

The only thing I ever found was golf balls. Many many golf balls...  The bottom of Navy Bay must have been picked clean by now.  I would love to find something as interesting as a sword.

you need to do yourself a favour and dive tobermory, if you haven't done...we did that one too. It was a fantastic dive week.

When we dove Navy Bay, we left the cannon balls. Too heavy. Story is that some were from warfare and most were from ceremonial firings from decades gone by.

Anyone know anything about Dolphin Scuba? I was thinking about doing my open water course there in August.
