My father, Edwin Strachan (80 and going strong) has in the last couple of years, finally begun to talk about his time in Europe with the QOCH of Canada.  He is wondering if there may be some other survivors from March 1945.  He was in "D" company, 17 platoon.

He joined the regiment the day after the Hochwald battle and was wounded near Netterden, Holland on March 31, 1945.

I think he is considering attending the QOCH of Canada annual reunion in Winnipeg (if it still happens) but is rather hoping he would be able to share stories with some old aquaintances.

He served under Dennis Sweeting and RA  Samson.

THanks,

Dave Strachan

After he recovered from his wounds, he spent a year  in occupation in Aurich Germany with the RWR guarding CUrt Meyer and policing the canals.
