Hello i'm not sure where to begin so i'm just going to dive into it. Hopefully it's not too long.

I've been rummaging through the forums for a couple of weeks, consistently being redirected here from google searching. I've been trying to find relevant information to the situation i'm in but as i'm quite stressed for specific answers I thought it best to finally ask for myself.

My name is Robert, i'm 20 years old and have recently submitted an application to the Regular Force. I chose Infantry as my preferred occupation. I have not finished High school, deciding poorly that when 11th grade began I would not attend.

I received an email the other day notifying me that i've been chosen for further processing. Great! Now I have to contact the nearest office and get things rolling but here's where my situation begins to develop a fair bit of worry for me.

Let me explain as best I can whilst keeping it as short as possible.

My girlfriend is five years older than I am. We've been living together since January of this year and in mid November we relocated to British Columbia from Alberta (though we signed the rental agreement and payed our first rent in October)

She's a mother of two daughters, both four years old and twins. Her kids are from a past relationship where the biological father has never been involved though her ex boyfriend is on their birth certificate and the children hold his last name. With that being said, he fails to contribute his time or money to her children and they live full-time with us.

Now she's also pregnant with my child and although she's not yet had a doctors visit we're placing the pregnancy at about 12-16 weeks along. (At my best guess)

My question(s)..

Will stating that my girlfriend is pregnant with my child hold me back in anyway? Will my application be dismissed? If not, how will the pregnancy effect my employment with the Regular Force and if I am accepted, bar any unforeseen requirements will I be forced to miss the birth of my child or will I be able to accompany her in the hospital?

Also, will a career in the Canadian Forces provide my child and my
girlfriend with any benefits? How will the Canadian Forces view my relationship if we are not married? Will the children she already has be included in any benefits I may or may not receive?

Thank you in advance.
