One of the worst descritive inferences ever made in the print media. And I totally agree with you, since when 2 nameless soldiers represent 50% of the deployed contingent. Not cool at all.
 
As I noted on the blog entry, gotta love the editors - they write the headline, they make the copy fit the "news hole", context be damned.

The ONLY slack I cut is that in some cases, the internet version of a story is shorter than the hard copy version - that's how I know some spokespersons have had their statements cut off on the online version, but appearing in the print version.  That doesn't excuse the headlines, but it's possible the fuller story is in the "paper" papers.

I have the printed version, doesn't add anything at all.
 
Indeed, it was the print version I read this morning that got me researching.
