Shoulder Badge

  I have a friend who has found a brass shoulder badge which he is sure is from WW1 - it has I.D.B.M. and Canada embossed on it.  I would appreciate any information anyone has on this badge.

This shoulder metal title seems to be to the: 1st Depot battalion of Manitoba. The hat badge is known as 38-8 in Babin's work: Cap Badges of the Canadian Expeditionary Forces 1914-1919.

Would appreciate to hear from other badge collectors.
