Just about to take my BMQ through Co-op and i was wondering. What uniform do they give us.... im aware that we will get that uniform you always see people walking around on the parade square in but besides that i have no idea.... A friend of mine in infantry(RHLI) said that he has to take his combat gear home. I just wanted to know this soo i can learn about what gear I need to learn to maintain, Ive already downloaded big guides on polishing boots lol (cadet boot polishing instructions just dont match)

Seems that all Recruits are getting the full gear now. CADPAT combats, the new Tactical Vest, sleeping gear, ruk sack, winter gear, everything! You should recieve allmost your full entiltlement. The new Recruits we are getting now are issued more than I currently have, and I;ve been in for 11 years!

Thank you very much for responding to my post, most people dont respond to my posts lol. But when you say "new recruits" did you mean people who just went into the regiment or people who were taking their BMQ?

Both. You should receive your full complament of equipment prior to starting BMQ.

Matt-Z don't worry. You will get everything as Sharpie said. One thing though, you won't get gortex stuff. Got to be in a year or be trade qualified.

the new Tactical Vest,

*grumbles and walks away*

I guess we Sigs are the only ones still in webbing, huh? Even the cornflakes are getting the tacvest now... :crybaby:

Hey Bloggins,

Dont sweat it about the tac vests. I am one of 2 guys in my unit to have one and it's only because I just got back from a tour. We still have people in the OD Combats, so the recruits who winge about not having the 'proper' kit, should shhhhhhhhhhhhh......We have inf. qual troops here who CANNOT get replacement parts for their webbing. It looks like crap and can only be sewn so many times......BE HAPPY for what you all have!!!

Sorry, didn't mean to whine (well, ok, at least not out loud), it's just annoying seeing all the other units in our area getting their kit before us (that includes non-combat arms units). Oh well, hurry up and wait I guess.  :)
