There are surely others.  I just listed three somewhat legendary contemporary RSMs.

Height means nothing as an RSM.  It's about "presence".  I have worked for two RSMs of small stature who could easily command a room simply by entering.  Both were about my height (I'm 5'9") and built like refridgerators, with an icy stare that could make the blood in your veins run cold.

En Francais:  Sergeant Major Regimentaire (SMR) Smallest Man in the Regiment .  One Franco RSM I worked for relabelled that to Smartest Man in the Regiment.  Geo I think you may know him!

Heh... I have had the pleasure of knowing several...... some are a little on the "not so tall" but all are "big men". 

I have yet to meet a CO who has refused to take councel from his RSM... You can do this the easy way, or you can do this the hard way

Periodic conferences where there's a room full of RSMs ... and whenever any one RSM speaks up.... it`s worth a listen.

I know that it's not that.. I have met a at least one that was over six feet, but most that I've worked under, are of my height.. But that SMR is funnier than Really Short Man.
