Spike in Applications

I've heard that there has been a sudden spike in applications into the army.  Anyone know anything about this?  Could you send me the link to any news organizations that might have a story on this.  Implications for future applicants?  What is the trade most applicants want to get into?  Increase in NCM app's or Off app's?  Could we say goodbye to recruitment incentive allowances?

I dont know much about this but when i was trying to get bookings for apt test,med/physical it was hard because the recruitment center was booked solid for like a week or two lol

Maybe it's time for them to hire more staff to process the papers faster. The wait is just rediculous. But I did hear that there are more applicants; I think I read it in a newspaper.

We usually get a increase around this time and around May due to Reserve applications.  It might have something to do with that.

Could it also be due to the fact that there will be an increase of 5000 soldiers into the army?  Maybe more people saw that a decided to join up.

It works.  But really it depends on what trade you get into.  Certain trades will give you a signing bonus of 10 to 30G depending on ones qualifications.  If one is already skilled in the desired trade, one might get a promotion to Cpl once finished BMQ.

There are only two NCM occupations that you can receive allowances ($) and a few others that you can receive incentives (higher entry rank, bypass training).

With certain NCM trades they offer $10,000 signing bonus with post-secondary diploma. Does this apply to ANY diploma, or only something directly related to that trade? i.e. I have a degree in English but am applying for NE Tech (C).

No it has to be directly related to the trade and it must be from an approved institution.  Dental to dental, electronics to NE Tech (C).
