A 41-year-old woman in being held by police in Stockholm on suspicions of raping a 30-year-old man who went home with her after the two met at an area pub on Monday night.

According to police, the two were hungry and under the influence of alcohol as they made their way home from the bar.

“She invited him up for a little midnight snack,” Towe Hägg of the Stockholm police told The Local.

Once getting the man up to her place, the woman began to make sexual advances toward the man, which he resisted.

“We don’t know if it was a ‘no’ or if it was more than a ‘no’,” said Hägg.

After the man refused to have sex with the woman, she then performed oral sex on him against his will, according to the Aftonbladet newspaper.

The man called police the next morning to report that he was raped.

The woman remains in police custody while prosecutors determine whether or not to file formal charges.

Yes, its completely plausible for an intoxicated man to agree to go up to a strangers apartment for a "midnight snack" and that be all.  :

Now this isn't to say it doesn't happen because I'm sure it does, but the way this story is presented just sounds a little fishy to me.  No offense to this guy but was he really incapable of maybe standing up while the act was being committed.  Or, assuming she was smaller than he is (as most woman are smaller than men genetically, so no sexist accusations) could he not of just thrown her off of him?  Like I said the story sounds fishy.  Oh and the real kicker is it happened in Stockholm!  Just a coincidence that that city was voted to have the best looking woman in the world, right? 

All in all, who knows cause I don't have the full story, just his.

So I take it you have never been that drunk that you have trouble standing. In that state you have trouble controlling yourself, let alone someone else. I can remember a few times when I was so drunk that I tried to resist the girlfriend undressing me for bed. She was smaller and still managed to get me into bed and asleep.

"No" means "no", regardless of gender. The fact that he submitted does not necessarily imply consent. As MCG suggested, he could have been verbally or physically threatened. He also could have been too intoxicated to fight her off as others here have suggested.

And MedTech, the fact that she was Swedish (we assume) doesn't guarantee that the woman was gorgeous. Moreover, this isn't a Dear Playboy letter. The man was assaulted. She could have been beautiful, average, or ugly. The point is that he didn't want it and she forced it on him.

First of all, yes I have, one or twice, and try to avoid getting THAT drunk for the very reason posted here, bad things happen.  If your 40 something and you haven't learned when to stop drinking, well your pretty irresponsible first of all, and you have too accept that things like this might happen.

Second, using alcohol as an excuse is a two way street.  If he says publicly "I was too drunk to stop her" then she will say "I was too drunk to know what I was doing".

Oh and by the way, if he was unable to stand, its a sheer miracle he made it up the stairs to her residence in the first place don't you think?  Was she so overpowering that she carried him up there to be raped?

Absolutely, I was just pointing out the irony of it all.  And this stuff would most likely get put on Penthouse Forum actually.   

Besides, we don't have the woman's statement.  And thats just too bad in my opinion.

Alright.  This has gone far enough.  We don't need a tabloid quality thread exploring an ongoing criminal proceeding in another nation.

Had it been a woman making this complaint, it would not even be a discussion point.  It shouldn't be for a man either.
