KANDAHAR CITY, June 28 (Pajhwok Afghan News): One of three boys kidnapped by Taliban earlier in the week has been slaughtered, alleges a district chief in the southern Kandahar province.
Of the abducted teenaged trio, two youngsters were lucky enough to have a narrow escape from captivity but the third one had his throat slit, the Nawbahar districts administrative head said on Thursday.
Mullah Zarif told Pajhwok Afghan News the 15-year-old - all too green to take sides in the ongoing insurgency - was killed on the ludicrous charge of spying for government forces.
But Taliban spokesman Qari Yousaf Ahmadi, expressing ignorance about the teenagers execution, said he had not yet received any information in this regard.
Earlier in the week, the rebels decapitated two people on the same amorphous charge in the eastern Nangarhar province. On Tuesday, they executed a defector in Tora Bora area of Pachir Agam district.
Mirajuddin, a resident of Khogyani, was put to death after he confessed to spying for Afghan intelligence operatives, local Taliban spokesman Qari Subhan said.
A videotape made available to Pajhwok in Peshawar - the NWFP capital - on Saturday showed armed insurgents beheading a man named Gul Rehman, son of Abdul Ghafoor.
Also this week, the US military accused the guerrillas of strapping an explosive belt to a six-year-old, who wandered onto the compound of a district governors office in Ghazni
