To answer Mayor Miller’s Question; Yes, I have held the hands of victims. As a Paramedic I hold them every day.
One in particular I need to share. I was transporting a patient to hospital that was being consumed by cancer and we were talking to pass the time. He started to get teary eyed and I asked if the tears were due to his cancer.
They weren’t. He admitted that he was fearful that left wing politicians like, Mayor Miller, were trying to take Canadians down the same political path that his father fought against in World War II. This Man served Canada with distinction in the Canadian Armed Forces; as did his father before him.
I assured him that Canadians would not forget the sacrifices made by so many to keep us and others free from Dictatorships and Socialist tyrants. The politics if disarming a nation, Toronto’s secret “Executive Council” decisions, new proposed sweeping powers for the mayor?
Mayor Miller’s history in power has made it clear that if you oppose him, you loose your job, your livelihood, your sport, your business. Is Democracy not the freedom to voice opinions and discus the best solutions; without fear of reprisals?
As for history; would the world be a better place if more than a few stood against a tyrant in the 1930’s. To deny that, is to deny the Holocaust.
Why is Toronto Council afraid to stand up to the Bully? You are stronger together against him.
The actions of Mayor Miller and his thirst for power and control is more than a stain on the sacrifices of our Veterans.
Please don’t forget their sacrifice then as today’s men and women make our generation.
Remember them!
Stand against him, Stand together for freedom now!
