I think if Liberal politicians start getting assaulted and messed with by gun owners who lost thousands or tens of thousands of dollars they're going to start caring (and crying).

Will Liberals draw some sort of moral victory like "see gun owners are violent after all"? 100%.
Will that help someone sleep at night if some gun owner out thousands of dollars wants revenge? Maybe not.

Its amazing what we have become since 2015. And I don't mean amazing in a good way.

I don’t know about where you live, but out here there are far more well armed crazy people than there will ever be police.

The coercion will be found elsewhere. No income tax refund. No CPP or OAS. Debanked. RRSP frozen. No passports. No insurance of any kind. No federal healthcare, daycare. No VAC claim.

I still think it would be really easy for the CFRO to simply pull anyone's firearms licence if they have registered/prohibited firearms on file (e.g AR15s) and don't turn them in after October.

If that interferes with hunting tags and licenses in a high inflation environment then yes a firearm or two might be turned in.

Ok well. I know of several government funded university managed programs that used interns and co-ops that involved scraping pretty much every website, channel, internet posting and social media posting of a firearms reputed to be owned by Canadian citizens. Images, text , locations, usernames, accounts, and meta data captured, catalogued, indexed and cross referenced.

• Firearms dealers using Gmail accounts that were in data leaks? Check.
• Facebook groups, chat groups, leaked commercial transaction data. Check.

Hundreds of millions of pieces of data all collected, sorted, and already provided to activist groups to start reporting, doxxing, publicly naming and shaming firearms owners.
All paid for with your tax dollars.

Its bad enough we can't sell our pistols or hand them down legally. Losing a restricted license because of an AR means all your pistols are kaput.

I’m not sure what you’re saying to me. I agree they’ll find their pressure point elsewhere. It won’t be a policing action.

Going after legal illegal gun owners in an election year seems like too big of a opportunity to miss.

It took Liberals 6 years to get to this point. I'm betting they find a reason to slow roll enforcement for a couple years.
