The Great Gun Control Debate- 2.0

Selectively, if you ask me. They have a ton of big shiny heads there to pruf reid stuff, but they have to push the red narrative and do damage to the cause of lawful gun owners. I'd love to know why they really changed it.
I see what you did there

My kids have Glock19’s and AR-15’s. BUT they are locked up in a (rather large) safe, with no access to them without my wife or I being there.

I don’t understand how any parent can give minor children access to firearms, because even the best intentioned children are still children and can make mistakes.

I remember that case and it really angered me that the father was that uncaring and stupid.

I bought my kids rifles - for them to use. I own them, they're locked in my gun safe(s) and they have no access to either the gun room, nor the safes.

They use them under my direct supervision only.

My littlest minion is pretty good with hers - it's a Ruger Precision Rimfire in .22 LR.

Some members of our community are worse enemies of our community than the anti-gun folks themselves.

Halifax Regional Police will participate in the gun grab. Their Chief feels that reducing the amount of guns owned by hunters, farmers and sport shooters is a good thing.

The CCFR and other will hold a rally against the gun grab in Halifax on April 10. Details can be found on Facebook.

Your Police chief is a dunce. As is Winnipeg's....

Complete clown.

His statement is embarrassing. Just say your guys want overtime to man the buyback desk.

Linking it to an epidemic of intimate partner violence when the leading cause of death is stabbing is just smoke screen. (70 percent of the time it’s not firearms)

It’s just money. Say it. I hate domestic violence. We re up to our eyeballs in it all the time. Guns are not the route through the issue and it’s a poor reflection on HRP management.

I would disagree with the murder and manslaughter charges. He did not kill anyone himself, that is the actions of his son. He did not council his son to kill anyone, he isn't a accessory. The reckless conduct charges make sense though, as his actions absolutely fall under it.

He actually is an accessory. Accessory laws in general include aiding and abetting a crime. Providing a child with mental health issues with an assault rifle can constitute "aiding." Intent will be an issue. The question is whether an intent to acquire and provide the weapon is enough or whether some further intention is required.

I fully expect that the facts in this case did not show an intention on the part of the father to facilitate a murder but did clearly show an intent to provide him with an assault rifle knowing full well of his mental situation.

My view is that at least for the purpose of this trial, the judge instructed the jury on what he thought the status of the law was and left it to them to decide if the facts adequately fit the law.

I won't say whether the outcome is right or wrong. That's for an appeals court to decide but one should take care in this because criminal laws in the US are both state and federal. In run of the mill murder the cases state laws usually apply and they can vary a bit both in wording or interpretation from state to state.

One thing that I do like is that by holding stupid people responsible for putting dangerous tools or thoughts in other peoples' hands or heads other people might smarten up a bit. Unfortunately "stupid is as stupid does" usually doesn't read statutes or court cases.

The government can spend a hundred billion on India. If they can do that, they can pay us full value, not just on guns. If people choose to turn in their property, it should include all ancillary equipment. Mags, optics, furniture, reloading dies, etc. Mags for my rifle(s) are almost $50 a piece. And I have about 30 of them.
