The Great Gun Control Debate- 2.0

Smear? Your joking right? The charges include trafficing and tampering with serial numbers. Very serious charges that dont get tossed at soneone without evidence. Most people also dont keep 300k cash under their pillow
The gun might have been made up of several guns, then exported, where one of the serial numbers has been crossed out and new one added to satisfy the import regs.

Also when rechambered post war, guns often had their marks ground off and new set punched in. There is no central registry of serial numbers, so you may have two manufacturers using the same serial number.

One of the firearms in his possession had the serial number tampered with, that doesn't mean he was the one who tampered with it.

As for trafficking, that could be a matter of him buying illegal firearms and the police using the number of firearms present to justify trafficking charges - when we all know 400+ guns isn't abnormal for a true collector.
But is storing some of the 400+ guns in your basement hanging on hooks with the ammunition clips inserted on what look to be AR-15s the sign of a true collector?
That alone, plus having 300k in cash at home and being 78yrs old has to bring forth the question of cognitive decline.
An argument of the need for a medical assessment could easily be warranted.

Is having that much money at home a crime?
We know it is not. So why judge him on it.

Hundreds of guns, OK, but a cannon - over achiever...

Ex-Canada MP arrested after police seize 439 guns and antique cannon from his home

Ex-Canadian MP Inky Mark has been arrested after police found a trove of guns, ammunition and an antique cannon along with thousands of dollars in cash in his home.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) seized 439 firearms from his house near Dauphin, Manitoba, last week during a firearms trafficking probe. At least three of the guns were illegally trafficked, RCMP said.

Mark, 78, has been charged with firearms trafficking and several other gun-related offences, including possessing unauthorised devices and unsafe storage, which officials say threaten public safety.

Manitoba follows Canada's strict federal gun control laws, but its provincial government actively opposes extra restrictions.

I don’t think storing firearms with magazines in them is a good idea — but it is very common for large private collectors and museums to add authentic looks.

If I had enough extra savings to have 300k sitting around, I would, as there are some things that cash is best for, not illegal activities either.

Have you seen the pic I’m referring to?

Meanwhile Toronto is role-playing being Chicago for a weekend. 12 shot.

Don't forget stabbings, bludgeoning, vehicular, toss off roof , and a$$ stomping.

Wait until the the next long weekend.

Caribana is the largest street festival in North America.

I expect there will be police rooftop "Observers " aka snipers.

Hopefully, there will be no violence during this year's "festivities".

Are those firearms rendered inoperable in the pic?
Do you see any trigger guards on them?
There has been no information provided on the door lock set up. It could be (we don’t know) that the entry way was a vault door. In which case, trigger locks not not required. Or, they were just in his basement, unlocked. We don’t know.

The Cops have a habit of charging firearms owners with unsafe storage, regardless, and making them prove otherwise.

he admits to illegally transferring firearms

I'm surprised that Nathalie Provost hasn't given him a hug for supporting her crusade as well as he did. As a licensed firearms owner he has done immeasurable damage to our cause.

Counter to this was the response by TPS Chief Demkiew to a question about who did the Salsa shooting. A reporter had asked him for proof that this shooting wasn't the work of a lawful firearms owner. He said that Toronto Police overwhelmingly encounter smuggled guns in the possession of unlicensed owners.
