Hey man,
There is absolutely nothing to be afraid of, it's a big decision for sure but not one to be so nervous about at least not yet. You can, if they aren't busy, call just with questions but you're certainly better off to go in maybe make an appointment if you're close enough. They'll give you all the information you need, and you have no reason to worry about what to say as long as you're professional but it's not like you have to address them as you were a member yet. The selection process as well....tends to take a while,for me and a few others i know. So you'll have plenty of time to think about it. Also, as far as I know you can get a reserve force job and change trades when you transfer to full time, so you'll be able to get a feel for the forces even if it's not particularly your preferred trade.
The big thing is....you gotta do something. Not making a choice is still a choice. It's okay to be nervous and the forces will teach you allot, but you yourself have to learn to be brave and take action first.
