If we were to go with a split fleet why would we go with some other lesser aircraft. Just buy the 80/65/88 F35 and sign on to a 6th gen fighter like GCAP or FCAS. I dont see the immediate need to diversify our aircraft types

Old Hornet engines wouldn’t going into new T-7s if you’re thinking that route.

I didn't think old engines would be reusable, but more that it would fit into our existing parts supply chain and our maintainers who are already trained to work on that engine.

The maintainer turnover is so high, it really doesn’t matter.

It entered full rate production last year, is transonic, and Boeing plans to offer an armed version to replace old F-5 Freedom Fighters. And in case, we badly need to replace the Hawk and especially the Tutor.
