The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

How are we feeling about this new development? I am by no means an expert and am all for purchasing what we originally committed to, but perhaps having a couple alternative airframes for a split fleet isn't all that of a terrible idea?

Arab nations with these expensive aircraft are not serious threats. Having an F1 car doesn't mean you'll set F1 lap times.

No way. This problem is wholly owned by the Trudeau decade of dithering and dilettante and now followed by Carney's "review". Entirely the makings of Canada's natural governing party.

Not working yet, but it's still (to some, anyway) early days in rejigging the "buying jets" regime.

F-35 defenders launch counterattack against Swedish fighter jet proposal

A dozen former high-ranking air force officers sent letter backing F-35 purchase

"...a dozen former high-ranking officers of the Royal Canadian Air Force sent a letter to the federal government to reiterate the benefits of acquiring a full fleet of F-35s to meet Canada's military needs"

The letter, which has not yet been made public, was sent Monday to key government decision-makers involved in the fighter jet file, including the office of Prime Minister Mark Carney. "..... include Tom Lawson, who was chief of the defence staff of the Canadian Armed Forces from 2012 to 2015." In an interview with CBC News, he refused to comment on the letter, but raised questions about plans to purchase Gripen fighter jets.
Another Lockheed schill speaking out. Seems Lockheed is seriously worried about losing a lucrative contract.

The dastardly and evil Lockheed Martin shills versus the courageous and righteous Saab defence industry lobbyists.
