AC-130 with a slew of GAU-19 turrets slaved to some sort of AD Radar and STC aiming setup.I have said it before, reinvent the Skyraider if you want to kill drones

How are we feeling about this new development? I am by no means an expert and am all for purchasing what we originally committed to, but perhaps having a couple alternative airframes for a split fleet isn't all that of a terrible idea?

Another Lockheed schill speaking out. Seems Lockheed is seriously worried about losing a lucrative contract.First push back on the Gripen's is finally being brought into the light.
F-35 defenders launch counterattack against Swedish fighter jet proposal
A dozen former high-ranking air force officers sent letter backing F-35 purchase
"...a dozen former high-ranking officers of the Royal Canadian Air Force sent a letter to the federal government to reiterate the benefits of acquiring a full fleet of F-35s to meet Canada's military needs"
The letter, which has not yet been made public, was sent Monday to key government decision-makers involved in the fighter jet file, including the office of Prime Minister Mark Carney. "..... include Tom Lawson, who was chief of the defence staff of the Canadian Armed Forces from 2012 to 2015." In an interview with CBC News, he refused to comment on the letter, but raised questions about plans to purchase Gripen fighter jets.
We bought the Swiss Pilatus PC-21 as a trainer instead of the Tucano.
Ah yes those sneaky Lockheed schills, unlike the upright bastions of truth employed by Saab.Another Lockheed schill speaking out. Seems Lockheed is seriously worried about losing a lucrative contract.
Does Bristol still have the capability of getting in on any of this? At one time they were after the 1988 fighter contract if I recall. With Carney and Kinew's current rapport perhaps Man. might benefit instead of the usual Quebec and OntarioAnyone able to post this article which is behind a paywall?

Both companies are hungry to feed at the Canadian trough. One is out in the open pretending to offer zillions in numbers of Canadian jobs and the other is employing people using their RCAF credentials (hence schill) to sell their product. The dastardly and evil Lockheed Martin shills versus the courageous and righteous Saab defence industry lobbyists.
LM will still have the P8 contract, the HIMARS contract, the AEGIS contract......Both companies are hungry to feed at the Canadian trough. Except that the P-8 is a Boeing product...LM will still have the P8 contract, the HIMARS contract, the AEGIS contract......
1) P8 - 10.4 billion CAD
2) HIMARS - 2.35 billion CAD
3) AEGIS - 2.30 billion CAD (for only the first 3, assume that value of 2.30$ X roughly 5) = +/- 11.5 billion
Total - roughly 25 billion CAD
LM is getting pretty thick on Canadian bacon.
Ouch - my bad.Except that the P-8 is a Boeing product...
You missed Lockheed is combat systems integrator for River Class including as you mentioned Aegis. RQ9B (Hellfires) , C130J and I’m sure other kit. Being the largest defence contractor in the world, Lochmart is bound to involved some of our contracts.LM will still have the P8 contract, the HIMARS contract, the AEGIS contract......

It's almost like retired RCAF officials are some of the only people who can speak out on behalf of the RCAF for the F-35 without the potential of punishment for interference? If you want to call people shills, the amount of high ranking former Canadian officers hired by the US MIC basically precludes any official from speaking on the topic at all. Both companies are hungry to feed at the Canadian trough.
