Reality is there already was equity and inclusion. Racism was practically extinct until DEI people brought it back.

The "DEI" policies have impacted the bottom line of big business, and nobody is going to tolerate that for long. It was a fun experiment for some. We can now get back to a meritocracy.

French far-right politician Jean-Marie Le Pen has died aged 96.

Le Pen, who had been in a care facility for several weeks, died at midday on Tuesday "surrounded by his loved ones", the family said.

Le Pen - who repeatedly played down the Holocaust and was an unrepentant extremist on race, gender and immigration - founded the French far-right National Front party in 1972.

He reached the presidential election-run off against Jacques Chirac in 2002.

McDonald’s rolls back DEI programs, ending push for greater diversity​

Fast-food company decides to scale back plans after 2023 US supreme court ruling and conservative backlash to DEI

Four years after launching a push for more diversity in its ranks, McDonald’s is ending some of its diversity practices, citing a US supreme court decision that outlawed affirmative action in college admissions.

McDonald’s is the latest big company to shift its tactics in the wake of the 2023 ruling and a conservative backlash against diversity, equity and inclusion programs. Walmart, John Deere, Harley-Davidson and others rolled back their DEI initiatives last year.

McDonald’s said Monday it will retire specific goals for achieving diversity at senior leadership levels. It also intends to end a program that encourages its suppliers to develop diversity training and to increase the number of minority group members represented within their own leadership ranks.

McDonald’s said it will also pause “external surveys”. The burger giant did not elaborate, but several other companies, including Lowe’s and Ford, suspended their participation in an annual survey by the Human Rights Campaign that measures workplace inclusion for LGBTQ+ employees.

Aside from that interaction portion, there are some new textbooks that specifically have a lot of different examples of symptoms and diseases and how they look on different skin tones, as I guess most references basically just had photos on white skin, and things like skin cancer don't look the same with more melanin, so diagnoses were getting missed.

Makes sense to me, as the whole 'I don't see colour' arguement is dumb and ignores practical realities.

I joined a department that was 100% white male.

Eventually, it began to better reflect the communities we served.

Politics aside, I think it made our jobs easier.

Pretty crazy how an OG nazi sympathizer hung around long enough to form a political party. For a guy that tried to join the resistance he had a pretty rosy view of them.

Half of racialized people have experienced discrimination or unfair treatment in the past five years​

Over one in three people (36%) aged 15 years and older living in Canada have experienced some form of discrimination or unfair treatment in the five years prior to the latest wave of the Canadian Social Survey. These experiences occurred in a variety of settings—while attending school, applying for jobs, working, shopping, and seeking healthcare, among others. The results, based on new data from the survey collected from January to March 2024, suggest that while the proportion of self-reported incidents of discrimination has remained relatively stable since 2021, discrimination and unfair treatment continue to disproportionally affect racialized groups, Indigenous people, women, 2SLGBTQ+ populations, people living with disabilities, and young adults.

Discrimination and unfair treatment is a headline indicator in Canada's Quality of Life framework. This framework enables the federal government to identify future policy priorities, to build on previous actions to strengthen evidence-based decision-making and budgeting, and to improve the well-being of Canadians.
