Reality is there already was equity and inclusion. Racism was practically extinct until DEI people brought it back.

The "DEI" policies have impacted the bottom line of big business, and nobody is going to tolerate that for long. It was a fun experiment for some. We can now get back to a meritocracy.

Four years after launching a push for more diversity in its ranks, McDonald’s is ending some of its diversity practices, citing a US supreme court decision that outlawed affirmative action in college admissions.

McDonald’s is the latest big company to shift its tactics in the wake of the 2023 ruling and a conservative backlash against diversity, equity and inclusion programs. Walmart, John Deere, Harley-Davidson and others rolled back their DEI initiatives last year.

McDonald’s said Monday it will retire specific goals for achieving diversity at senior leadership levels. It also intends to end a program that encourages its suppliers to develop diversity training and to increase the number of minority group members represented within their own leadership ranks.

McDonald’s said it will also pause “external surveys”. The burger giant did not elaborate, but several other companies, including Lowe’s and Ford, suspended their participation in an annual survey by the Human Rights Campaign that measures workplace inclusion for LGBTQ+ employees.

Aside from that interaction portion, there are some new textbooks that specifically have a lot of different examples of symptoms and diseases and how they look on different skin tones, as I guess most references basically just had photos on white skin, and things like skin cancer don't look the same with more melanin, so diagnoses were getting missed.

Makes sense to me, as the whole 'I don't see colour' arguement is dumb and ignores practical realities.

I joined a department that was 100% white male.

Eventually, it began to better reflect the communities we served.

Half of racialized people have experienced discrimination or unfair treatment in the past five years​

Over one in three people (36%) aged 15 years and older living in Canada have experienced some form of discrimination or unfair treatment in the five years prior to the latest wave of the Canadian Social Survey. These experiences occurred in a variety of settings—while attending school, applying for jobs, working, shopping, and seeking healthcare, among others. The results, based on new data from the survey collected from January to March 2024, suggest that while the proportion of self-reported incidents of discrimination has remained relatively stable since 2021, discrimination and unfair treatment continue to disproportionally affect racialized groups, Indigenous people, women, 2SLGBTQ+ populations, people living with disabilities, and young adults.

Discrimination and unfair treatment is a headline indicator in Canada's Quality of Life framework. This framework enables the federal government to identify future policy priorities, to build on previous actions to strengthen evidence-based decision-making and budgeting, and to improve the well-being of Canadians.

One of the greatest grifters on "racism and hate" is "Dr" (like academic kind not fix your bones kind) barbara Perry. She has successfully suckered and squandered millions upon millions of dollars in "studies on racism" and other nonsensical anti-white, anti-conservative, anti-political right leaning programs. Hell, she even grifted DND. And her contributions to the "Canadian Anti-hate network" only focuses on "far right hate". They were called out for this just after the October 7th massacre. Bernie Farber has basically betrayed his jewish peers.

I have a lot of non-white friends and family (my step sisters are card status natives and my brother in law in black just as a starters plus growing up in Brampton, lots of non-white in my high school) in my life. They have all said the same things, which is the more that the little tiny bit of racism is highlighted in Canada, the more it becomes a problem to people who have very little non-white interaction. Yup, always good to hear from upper middle white (usually retired) Liberal people here in Collingwood area denounce racism they know nothing about.

A friend of mine, Tony H. who happens to be black, (yup these are all real people, not made up characters) and I were talking about "modern racism" a few years ago. He had experienced legit racism when he was child but he said it was very little. He also laughed at "systemic racism". I asked for his views and he pointed to me as an example. Between our black, Asian and Indian friends from High school, I made less money than all of them, had less of an education and until I bought the farm (which took 7 of us to chip in to buy it), they all had nicer homes.

Saying racism is a major problem in Canada is really a perspective thing. And when do we address the blatant anti-semitic hate that has been going on in Canada since long before October 7th? Ohh, the radical left cherry picks their arguments. Enough is enough.

Keep bringing it up and it will never go away.

If we had spent more time on that, and less on "white fragility" there would be a lot less backlash to "woke" things...

Especially when you have got a couple of hundred years of history where you have been told you have a special responsibility to look after the peoples of the rest of the world and raise them to your standards and share the benefits of your life.

It sucks pretty hard to be told that the preference is to return to burning widows, maintaining harems and kowtowing to emperors.
