The War in Ukraine

Not all my opinions (many are though), but perhaps collated observations from various analysts and commentators that may provide an insight into the Animals Russian's Orc's mindset.

-'Hybrid' war is War
  • Peace is a dormant phase of War
  • There are no lies when communicating with the enemy, lies are just another tactic used in War
  • Kremlin cannot maintain control of Russia with a virulently democratic neighbor
  • Red Army cannot take the entirety of Ukraine
  • There are no rules of War for the winner
  • All people in Ukraine must demonstrate fealty to Russia or leave.
  • Ukrainian's are treasonous inhabitants of a Russian oblast
  • Treason is best dealt with by using the death penalty
  • Children are future fighters to be raised or eliminated
  • In War there are no non-combatants, not fighting for Russia is the same as fighting against Russia
  • Families of slain Ukrainian's are a probable threat to future Russia.
  • 'Scorched Earth' tactics prevent Ukrainians from re-inhabitation
  • Terrorised populations are weaker or will leave
  • Torture is an example to others as well as a legitimate way of obtaining information
  • As long as a state of War exists the Kremlin can maintain control over society
  • Everybody within the vertical of power that matters will support the Kremlin or be removed and the assets they have taken
In short, every dead Ukrainian is a good Russian but every refugee/diaspora Ukrainian is a threat as long as Ukraine exists as a state or culture.

Pretty much what Russian state media said today.

My personal ranking of how this might play out, from most to least likely.

1. Not happening, the 'deadline' gets extended into eternity.
2. Stabbing Ukraine in the back.
3. US directly joining the war.

#2 but not outright obvious

I see a noteable lack of fuel trucks....

Canada needs this for it's F35's - but might benefit with the addition of an arrestor cable truck/trailer for the F18 to access shorter road sections.

How many guard airmen would it take to refuel/rearm/maintain/house and sleep/ops planning in this sort of operation? Finland and Sweden use a section, Ukraine a few more but not many.

Sending a deliberate message.

Lots of undead Ukrainians out here. Quite the target set.

The VTOL advantage.

Looking ahead - what will happen in the 2027 Taiwan invasion window if China has North Korea slow, reduce or delay weapons shipments, feints east but attacks north and at the same time all the North Korean troops turn on Russia.

The US would be out of position, Europe would be still tied up with supporting Ukraine, and nobody except (perhaps) Iran willing to commit to help Russia stop China from retaking Manchuria and much of Siberia and its resources.
