Otherwise, they accounted for a lot of wasted time at wrecks searching for babies that were not on board.

Ya, that's tough. Unrestrained bodies, or parts thereof, can submarine into spaces you wouldn't think possible. I had a fatal on Hwy 401 where a K-car (remember those?) was sandwiched between two semis. The resulting car was rendered quite small.
