Hi I was wondering if it is true that when you sign up for the Reserves do you have to go away for 2 months to a training camp?

I would think a Sergeant would know this...  ::)

The answer is no, some units have weekend BMQs.  Please do a search, there is a lot of info on this site, and most common questions like the one you asked have been asked many, many times before.

I also think you should probably reconsider your choice of avatar...

Thanks and i think you should think about changing you avatar to...Ti-Cats all the way!!!!

Wring your neck in a bit.  Look at Occam's profile and see how much time he has in, and re-think your reply.

And yes, I think a Sgt (even a cadet one) should know better.

If you join the RHLI you would have to do three courses to get qualified in the infantry trade, two of them being full time over the summer- so yes, you would need to go away to training for two full months. This would likely be the summer after you actually got enrolled.

Decide for yourself if you're willing to make two months of your summer free for training. If not, don't bother. Someone else will.
