Hello Everyone,
I just want to say that I've spent hours browsing around the forum, lots of different areas and different threads, and I have to tell you all that it's very refreshing and great to see a lot of women members in here and very active too! Other sites I've belonged to have been almost all very male dominated, and while I enjoy the sites I belong to and am pretty active in them, I really do miss the women participation, so am very glad to find it's more coed (for lack of a better word off the top of my head) and I don't feel such an odd cog and not so lonely (or such a target
)
This site is quite amazing in general. I have belonged here for some time, but never hung out here. I found this site years back when researching a relative, a fallen soldier D-Day +2, and wandered off again, but have dropped in now and then occasionally. Never had a good look around though, or a sense of what this place and community is really like until the last couple of days. Now I'm sorry I missed out for so long, but look forward to visiting and getting to know people (and I think I already know a number of you already, from other forums, and from in person too) I really look forward to the learning, and conmversations in here. I hope I add some good qualities or something to this community too, even if I am just a civi ... I've come to start feeling pretty attached to military types as people I really enjoy being around and talking with, love the values and tightness, and mingling. I figure people are drawn to people and environments that they need to be around. Cozy :nod:
I haven't noticed a forum thread specifically for members introductions where everyone, (those who want to) give a little info about themselves so other members can get a bit acquainted. Is there such a thread and I've missed it???
Since a lot of you people in here have served or are currently serving, or have a loved one serving, I want to tell you I appreciate and respect why and what you are all doing, and sacrificing, for everyone else. For those of you who have lost someone, or parts of yourself, I can only give you my condolences and say I hurt too knowing the losses and sacrifices ... and I feel a deep gratitude and appreciation for you all. I only wish I could do more on my end, in general, to do my part as a civi :yellow: If there is something you think I can do, ask me, tell me, if it's possible, I will.
On that note ....
