I'm geographically challenge,
but I wonder what times zones permit the fact that its 23h
Saturday in Québec, but around 7 am Monday in Russia?

(It's now 23h , and 3h GMT Sunday, so I add the hours to have the time in Russia)

The Sibir Airbus A-310 plane had flown from Moscow when it crashed at Irkutsk airport in Siberia.

You're grammatically "challenge" as well. 

I don't understand your question - is it "how do time zones work?", "what's GMT", "how can it be two different days at the same time".

For more info, go here:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_zone  .  It's not COMPLETELY accurate, but it's not bad.  BTW, "Fleming" is misspelled in the article - it is actually "Flemming" - two m's.

I changes a couple of time zones on the bus from Vancouver to Petawawa (it was nice trip, long but nice) and i also know that we'r a day behind Australia. Just enought to make it really hard to call home!
When i comes to time zones nothing has to make sense, its all really weird and you just got to look at a map and realise how far away a lot of areas are to the areas you live in. Those crazy Queenslanders (Wes!!!) even refuse to admit daylight savings exists!
Clocks are a weird thing to have to play with.

If you go east from Quebec it gets one hour later every time you cross a time zone.  2300 in Quebec is 2400 (or 0000) in the Maritimes, and 0030 in Newfoundland -- and it's the next day because it's after midnight.  If we continue looking east we'll cross a few more timezones and it's 0400 in the United Kingdom (and the news story was issued at 0355, so that's about right).  Going farther still to the east it would be 0700 three time zones east of the United Kingdom, which would be somewhere in eastern Russia.  (Like Canada, Russia has several time zones, so it's a different time depending on where you are in Russia.)

Apathy... many might just not care, i know thats why i didnt/dont always have the best spelling/grammar. Although, sometimes, its just fingers moving faster then my brain.
