Chinese Blog Proposes Giant, Submarine Aircraft Carrier Wednesday June 10th 2009, 3:59 am

The Navy Times has a new blog, The Scoop Deck, and one of their first finds really is a doozy. Apparently, some Chinese navy enthusiasts have proposed a giant, submarine aircraft carrier, carrying 40 fighter jets - this according to the blog China Military Report.
How feasible is this thing? According to reporter Phil Ewing,
this monster also carries 36 submarine-launched ballistic missiles, serves as a mother-ship for fast-attack submarines, can travel at the speed of light, changes Pepsi to Coke, finds your car keys, achieves perpetual motion and assures you the check's in the mail.
China Military Report's posts on the subject really are worth a gander, for the laughs, alone.

There's already been submarines built with aircraft launching capability....

There were some serious proposals of submarine aircraft carriers in the west and the east during the cold war.

Like this proposals from Boeing:

Gerry & Sylvia Anderson had a similar idea about 40  years ago:

Actually, the Japanese employed aircraft carrying submarine in WW2... it would be an outstanding capability if anyone could perfect it! Here's an example of a real life British one from WW2.

What this is news haven't you seen the test footage for the sub born F-15?
