Trade Training Living Situation

I apologize if this was answered somehwere else, I've already searched it and didn't find an answer.

My boyfriend is a Naval Communicator being posted in Esquimalt for Trade Training. He doesn't know if training will start right away or not, I'm planning on moving out there aswell so that we could live together. Would he be able to live off base? I would like to live with him but we are not married or common-law so I wasn't sure. If you know the answer please let me know. Thanks

The short answer is no, he will not be allowed to live off base.  As he is single, he will be required to live in barracks while doing his training.

Thanks for your answer. That is certainly a downer. That link as far as housing goes was not particularly helpful for me, but we'll see what they say once he reports to work on Friday.

Depends on how long his course is and how long he has to wait for it to start - I see alot of young OS's wandering in from apartments in the local areas.
