Is there any travel reimbursement if you come appear in CFAT, PT, interview etc. Many posts in this forum say thats right, but I was not paid anything when I went for CFAT/interview.

You can be reimbursed for travel cost in certain instances but you have to ask for it likely the recruiting office will not volunteer it.

I was volunteered 38$ when i went for my PT update....I was a little bit shocked to say the least, considering it only cost about 15$ in gas for the round trip to the CFRC in Barrie.

I was just given $14.50. The best part is that the CFRC is on my way to school, so it did not cost me anything to go.

Wow you sure scammed the tax payers good then.

You don‘t have to accept the money you know.

I told them my situation, they said it did not matter. So I got to keep the money they gave me. Also if you are there for more than 3 hours (I think it was that long) they paid for you to have a meal. They are quite nice to new recruits.

Actually, not accepting the money isn‘t as easy as you make it sound. When I went, I was booked in for the whole day (because I had the CFAT, Interview, Medical, and PT booked consecutively), and because it spanned the lunch period, I was told I would be reimbursed for lunch. I didn‘t get a chance to eat anything because of the long wait at both the doctor‘s office and the fitness place, so when they went to reimburse me I said "don‘t worry about it, its no big deal". The clerk got a little upset at this and said "No, it IS a big deal". She then talked to someone else, and I guess they said it didn‘t matter, so she came back with the bus fare it would‘ve cost me to head up to the doctor (even though I drove).

Whenever you go to the recruiting office for a medical, interview or teh CFAT you are ALWAYS reimbursed.

Only reimbursed if you live a cerain amount of KMs away. So not always. I did my physical and medical in the same day, because I live the designated area I did not recieve any compensation. I then had to travel to Victoria (1 1/2 hours away) to do my interview, and was then reimburst $55.00 for my trip and lunch.

In the CF Recruiting policy, you can be reimbursed for expenses depending on your distance from the centre. If you live within the same city limits as the ctr, then you get round trip bus fare. For outside city limits the ctr has a chart and you would normally get the equivalent bus fare from your home town, plus meals and lodgings if required. In any case, if you are coming to a ctr from outside, for an appointment, then you are entitled to pay for your time. Contact the Ctr in advance and ask them, they will be more than happy to outline your specific entitlements.

I live on the same street as the CFR center and they gave me $4.50 bus fare, so wherever you are coming from you get reimbursed.
