One more reporter writes on the state of the military without volunteering how much extra taxes he personally is willing to pay for an armed forces of any given size he desires. Nor does he make the case to the rest of the citizenry why they should demand that extra burden. Alternatively, what programs would he support removing the money from and then demand that the protesters of that action be ignored? He is seeking to sell papers, not to improve the state of the Canadian Forces.

Michael OLeary, are you referring to Granatstein or Leishman? I hope you are talking about Leishman because Ganatstein definitely offered up suggestions on how improvement could be accomplished. As far as I‘m concerned, Leishman is just plugging Granatstein‘s book and giving an "update" of sorts as to how Pratt and Martin are essentially carrying on the legacy of their predecessors. I would much rather see reporters writing this stuff over an anti-CF article.

Edit update: Ok, I re-read your post and it is obvious you are talking about Leishman. Even so, at least he is condemning the government‘s failures in respect to the CF rather than praising them.
