Trudeau Popularity - or not (various polling, etc.)

Looking past the :OMG she swore at the Prime Minister" distractive bullshit, guys. ASk yourself how many Canadians would tell Trudeau to Fuck off or fuck you if given a chance. If I were a betting man, I would say it is in the tens of millions. That means Canadians are beyond fed up.

Select and Maintain the aim.

I guess the thousands and thousands at the UFC event in Toronto earlier this year screaming "Fuck Trudeau" are ALL "far right" Canadians who opinion doesn't matter?

DAMMIT! My squad Master Corporal in Cornwallis swore at me daily. Damn, I should have just ignored him and carried on with my day. He was obviously a far right, anti-LGBTQ activist who opinion didn't matter.

Shrug there was a side discussion over how she behaved. You seem particularly invested in how we describe that. She acted trashy. She’s allowed to, if that’s how she chooses to use her one (and probably only) opportunity to directly engage with the PM. Some of us think it was dumb, remarked on that, and carried on. Not much more to be said, really.

I doubt you’d find tens of millions of Canadians who would tell the PM to fuck off. We tend to be more civil than that even if very political opposed. Most of us can behave like mature adults and simply vote our choice. And that’s regardless of the party in question. I’d have the same contempt for someone behaving that way to any of our political leaders.

Agree to disagree

Civil can end really quick when bank accounts are frozen (and for some it was for simply contributing money), it ends really quick when someone loses their house. It ends really quick when you apply for minimum wage job and you can't get it because there are hundreds of thousands of TFW filling job vacancies. It ends really quick when your drug addict relative dies from OD on a failed drug plan. It ends when your threatened because of your religion. The list goes on.

It is easy to be civil when you have your home is intact, your bills covered and your family is well fed. If YOU lose all that, you will become pretty uncivil in a really big hurray.

I am repeating myself over and over again. It is getting tiresome. You will see at the next election how Canada feels.

Dimsum: and it turns out that the person is an anti-LGBTQ activist.
So what? The person is a woman, white, not waving a kill Jews flag, knows a swear word. So what?
You are doing the same thing Trudeau does.

Trudeau is anti-Canadian.

declared that Canada was a post-national state with “no mainstream” and “no core identity, being Canadian “by default” is nothing special, recent immigrants have a stronger claim of ownership on the country, suggested that the entire country was complicit in an ongoing genocide , small fringe minority of people, unacceptable views, racists, insult to the truth, Nazi symbolism, haters, and on and on.

Fairly strong judgmental words, n’est-ce pas? Maybe she has class, or a class, lower-class? Maybe she had a family business, or herself previously middle-class, career or QOL destroyed by deliberate actions by the PM and doesn’t care if people judge her for telling off the person she feels has so negatively impacted her life. Who knows? I won’t judge her, since she wasn’t showing off a F*CK TRUDEAU flag or anything like that…just exercising her Charter Right to express herself.
I don't like Justin Trudeau at all, but I would never use profanities in front of a child or confront someone like that with their kids around. It's classless and it's also gutless.

This women is just another mouthy Karen who lives consequence free and thinks they can get in someone's face with zero consequences.

When you are on parade and the PM is inspecting the guard, are you biting the inside of your mouth to keep from blurting out exactly what she said? What prevents you? Your inherent refinement, discipline or the desire to maintain your income? IMHO she has merely expressed what we would all like to say and can't. Bravo lady.

338 shows about 45% CPC, and 47% LPC / NDP / BQ combined.

CPC will for a change take advantage of that vote splitting and come up the middle with a majority in the House.
That is not how FPTP works and you know it.

All the Liberal Party fan kids were suddenly thrilled with FPTP in 2015 when they got a majority with mid 30% polling…

The BQ are also not naturally aligned with the LPC. Nice try pretending they are though 😎
They came from the Conservatives, so they should actually be considered in that column.

Agreeing with HB- People vote for a party for all sorts of reasons. In a Westminster Democracy, aggregating the percentage of vote that did not poll for the winning party tells us nothing.

Although, I notice that only when the CPC is winning, does it become fashionable to aggregate the non-CPC vote.

The PQ is most certainly leftist. That does not extend to the BQ at the Federal level.

They are closer to the CAQ at the provincial level.

To be faaaaaair, I'm pretty sure there was a duty to report if CAF members were suspected of being gay way back then ;)

Good find. That website certainly put some work into exposing her.

I've found "Anti-LGBTQ+" can be a really wide brush. Do you think she's a ban gay marriage type or a no biological males with wigs on in girls change room type?

She has a Rumble Channel. That might shed some light…but I don’t really want that in any of my search histories.

My point is that FPTP rewards efficiency. The LPC / NDP split creates significant vote inefficiency. It has nothing to do with legitimacy of the resulting government. The PC / Reform split creates similar vote efficiency problems previously.

And the BQ is an odd hybrid... Fair to call me out on including them with LPC / NDP.

I think it’s a stretch to group the Liberals and NDP together. The Liberals were traditionally the party of Bay Street and Laurentian Elite. Before Trudeau, they were centre-left only so much to keep the NDP down.

No one can tell me the NDP has anything in common with the Paul Martins, John Manleys, Bill Morneau, etc.

In fairness, every democratic process has strengths and weaknesses. There is no perfect system. I like FPTP, it has worked. It has gotten us Majority governments and minority governments, it goes both ways (or maybe three ways if the NDP stop screwing around?)

If the NDP and LPC merged, many of the blue collared worker union folks would walk away. Many of them already are because of Jagmeet hypocrisy.
