The Digital tax was always going to cause problems, it was heading to court under the USMCA anyway. That’s just an excuse, it seems Carney hit some other tripwire that Trump doesn’t like and it’s not Dairy either. Remember Trump rarely uses a computer, and seldom reads an email or briefing document. Everything is by phone or by text, so this is likely something some nut job friend of his put him up to.
Or - hear me out - there’s no real reason other than he doesn’t like us because we don’t like him. Elbows at ease.

How would you handle negotiating with a bad faith, bullying, and beyond unpredictable interlocutor, other than handing over the keys and becoming the 51st state?

I wasn't elected on the premise that I would be best suited to handle negotiations with Trump. Would PP fair better, maybe, maybe not, guess we'll never know. I'm glad for Carney because if it wasn't for him, Trump would have already annexed us by now. Those B2's would be flying north not east. I can't wait for Trump to back down and cower once he realizes how tough Carney and his supporters are. Carney must have missed the day they taught what "non starter" means in business school.
