Or are those more southern states merely catching up in lacking/deficient infrastructure when compared to their northern counterparts?

My daughter leaves in 10 days to attend university in Pennsylvania on a soccer scholarship. Haven’t spent any time there before going down when she was invited to try out, was offered a spot/scholarship and then for some orientation.
Outside of Philly and somewhat Pittsburgh, PA seems to be a ‘lightly coloured’ red state. It sure has some clapped out industries/areas. Reminds me an awful lot of being back in Michigan visiting my Mom’s family.

Pennsylvania has extremely low minimum wages, even by US standards. For example, restaurant servers make 2.83$/hr…..
Here’s a list of the minimum wages of every state that geographically borders it.

  • New York: Minimum wage is $15.00 per hour.
  • New Jersey: Minimum wage is $15.13 per hour.
  • Delaware: Minimum wage is $13.25 per hour.
  • Maryland: Minimum wage is $15.00 per hour.
  • West Virginia: Minimum wage is $15.00 per hour.
  • Ohio: Minimum wage is $10.75 per hour.
Pennsylvania’s minimum wage is 7.85$/hr and it hasn’t moved in over 15+yrs.
Even West Virginia’s min wage is double that of PA - and West Virginia is dirt poor.

Likely because labour is cheaper and political support for manufacturing is stronger south of the Mason-Dixon..
 
Not surprised about District of Columbia,

This is due to several factors such as a comparably low population but also because it is the center of national government and the location of the Department of Justice. Nearly all of the country's federal agencies are housed there with large staffs of government employees who are able to monitor and investigate offenses.

One issue with those statistics is it only tracks public corruption convictions. Truly deep corruption doesn’t result in many public corruption convictions and could potentially mean that those listed are actually less corrupt due to actually tackling corruption.

The continued fuckery around the video of his cell block remains suspicious as hell though. We’re talking super basic digital forensics and evidence continuity there. There’s absolutely no reason there should have been anything weird or anything to question regarding the video data exports, missing footage etc. The absolute most charitable explanation possible is some serious amateur hour level incompetence by those involved in extracting, analyzing, reporting on, and publishing that material. And I’m stretching the bounds of credulity extending that charitable view. Anyone with any digital forensics training would curl up in a ball and die inside if their names were on that.

In a least one respect there's no difference between my household and yours and Epstein's there's a paper trail and of course an electronic one as well.
The larger the household the larger the amount of records and the greater depth it will cover.
I suspect there is no "LIST " there are lots and lot's of lists with probably hundreds if not thousands of names.
The hard part is going to be collecting the names and separating the wheat from the chaff.
