Trump administration 2024-2028

Retaking Bagram by force?
Invade Greenland?
No fly zone over Ukraine?
Invade Venezuela?
Make a bigger better parade for Trump?

All bets are on.

Possibly, everything else was relatively quiet today.

Quite a few unidentified drone incursions in Europe this week too, the most recent being a Franco-German military facility.

Did Turkey need anyone's approval when it shot down a Russian fighter that crossed into its airspace? Why does Poland have to follow different rules than Turkey did?

The Russian plane, according to Wikipedia (yes I know a crappy source), says that the Russian plane went into Turkish airspace for a distance of 2.19km for a total duration of 17seconds. It was a total distance of 1,000 meters inside Turkey when it was shot down.

I suspect that Poland is more than ready to test the Russians on that and the Russians know it.

“There is nothing the US needs from Canada”

I’m sure it will be fine…

On the cusp of flu season, I'm getting a really bad vibe. Parents with sick kids and just people in general aren't going to really care what POTUS says if they can't find or afford something to manage a fever or any other of the various ailments that run rampant in the winter.

Is Milei driving Argentina even further into the ditch?

There's the 'DOGE-Like' attack on the public sector and their US dollar based currency, and huge amounts of natural resources the US needs, plus the traditional family related political scandal... no wonder Trump feels for the guy ;)

Argentina is in crisis. A US rescue may invite new problems.

Despite the economic "shock therapy" imposed by libertarian President Javier Milei, Argentina is once again in crisis. The stock market is plummeting, dollars are fleeing, and the government is intervening heavily in exchange rate markets to stem a currency devaluation that could undo much of Milei's attempts to reduce inflation and restore economic growth. In Washington, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the US was considering various lifelines to Argentina, declaring that "all options" were on the table.

Milei has won widespread praise for his efforts to deregulate and reduce Argentina's government spending, laying off tens of thousands of public employees. Inflation has fallen, though it remains high. Nevertheless, the country's latest woes are less of a surprise than it may seem. Despite initial market optimism following Milei's deep fiscal and institutional reforms in 2024, Argentina remains hostage to shifting investor sentiment because of its heavy reliance on the dollar. Its only way out of the current crisis might well depend on the willingness of the United States to help.

Interesting timing and wont be popular. I'm somewhat concerned that this might cause Americans to start looking north at our supply, which isn't enough to provide for both Canada and a country with 10x the population.

I'll take "ways to cut American pharmaceutical tourism and foreign sales of Canadian drugs to the U.S. by mail for $400, Alex." This from ~6 years ago ....
Hell, "the rules" even say Canadian drugs can't be sold there if it risks threatening Canadian supply:

One quick AI estimate shows we may be talking something like $1B/year in Canadian drugs that could be kept outta the U.S.

Now, the political will here? 🤷‍♂️

Ozempic is Danish. Do they manufacture in the US? Pretty sure they package in the US but the drug itself is made elsewhere.
