Rwanda is the closest thing in terms of scale and barbarism. The sheer number of one ethnic group that was slaughtered in under a year is mind numbing.

It’s actually the proper word from English common law when the concepts were phrased in Latin, and the Naturalization Act of 1790 was copied from British law as set out in BlackStones Commentaries in 1765.

What word (for 'Alien') is used in the UK, Australia, NZ and Canada to describe the individual? Do any of these 4 countries who's legal system is based off of English Common Law use it?

There are a lot of bad stops on the authoritarian train before it comes to Hitler Station. We shouldn’t wait till then to get off.

No idea, but I do know the text of some legal documents filed in court in the 1860’s used the term ethnicus. Roughly used to convey dark skinned non -Christian people with religious status of Pagan or more likely Heathen (not fearing of the Christian God and therefore soulless and an untrustworthy witness). Very few nonwhites fell into this rather rude descriptor. This strange language was used in wills and estates until at least the Great War.

So in the end they're back to basically where it was before Trump kicked off a trade war with the planet (actually slightly less), and more of a maximum limit that will likely not be reached now that other countries have stepped in to provide their own soybeans. Art of the deal.

You're probably using the wrong definition of "alien". Example: Alien and Sedition Acts (1798). Not much point getting worked up over your own editorializing.

But what they're being called is "Hitler" and "Nazi" (or close to it).

1. Big problems are most easily solved while they are still small.
2. Is there really any limit to what a person might reasonably do to "prevent Hitler"?

Taking (1) and (2) together, at what point short of "actual Hitler" does "anything goes" become legitimate? And what responsibility do people who bang the "practically Hitler" drum bear when someone who combines rage and low self-control responds to the social contagion and acts to prevent "Hitler"?

This is the term that I am referring to.

In U.S. law, an "alien" is defined as any person who is not a citizen or national of the United States, as stated in the
Immigration and Nationality Act (INA). This term refers to a foreign national and includes individuals who are in the U.S. with legal permission, such as permanent residents ("green card" holders), as well as those who are not legally authorized to be in the country.

So that's what those mass sweeps of factories, including a Hyundai plant, farms and neighbours are doing. I imagine the folks who are there legally, including US citizens, once they are released from detention, can be proud they are doing their part in this noble endeavour. Citizen involvement! The operations that I have seen haven't looked all that "controlled" to me.

Although they would obviously be less public, I wonder why some intrepid reporter hasn't snapped an image of a ICE bus wheeling out of a detention facility full of criminal aliens.
