Trump administration 2024-2028

Ahem... you are referring to the new 'Trump Class' battleships.

I assume there will be fuzzy dice hanging off of the bridge somewhere ;)

President unveils new ‘Trump class’ fleet of battleships

I had to check to make sure this wasn't a Duffle Blog article...

...I'm sure this will go well!

One critique: Language has meaning. An underage woman is a child. The phrase "underage woman" is a deliberate effort to reframe the conversation.
Yup ...

Has any democratically elected leader had warships named after them while still in office? I could be wrong, but I thought that was an honour for after they leave office?

To be fair he probably will have died before the first one hits water.

Regardless, the US already had a fleet of very powerful CGNs- the Virginia Class, California Class, plus Long Beach, Truxton and Bainbridge.
Powerful but apparently expensive to maintain with the USS Arkansas retired after just 18 years into what should have been a 40 year career.

Long Beach herself a Kennedy era design - carried just under 200 missiles and was apparently capable of downing just about anything the Soviets could ever think of throwing at her.

Trump is no Kennedy.

Anyone taking bets that the first one off the slips is named after Trump (Assuming he hasn't been otherwise taken out of the picture by natural causes). And it will have a "Command" chair all in gold? 1766457869028.png

You and me both. In fact I checked and rechecked almost 3 times after reading it.
And to be honest it still sounds like something the duffel blog would publish.

Long Beach as I recall was also the last large surface combatant build with a real flag bridge worthy of the name.

Long Beach would sit on Yankee Station for months at a time and use its ADC team to direct B52 strikes on North Vietnam. “Baller Actual”. History of the ship is incomparable.

Here is part of the 60 Minutes report the Trump Administration did not want you to see. Bari Weiss, whom I used to have a lot of respect for, had the report pulled at the last minute because the Administration refused to comment, despite the opportunity given to do so. If this is a new editorial standard, then subjects of embarrassing news stories can just refuse to comment, vetoing the publication of embarrassing stories.

Anyways, the story in question was posted on the Global Canada app before it too was deleted. Here is a part of that story, which is horrific.

I’m having a hard time accepting that the US military will in any way make or take hostile moves against Greenland or Denmark. If an occupation is forced, it will be through the use of a private force likely associated with Russia. And what’s up there that the US simply can’t buy. It’s all very strange.
