Trump administration 2024-2028

Someone correct me if I'm misremembering, but isn't there some sort of fancy piece of parchment saying this is a hard "actually, no"?

ICE agents at poling booths checking for illegals? I wouldn't put anything beyond this gang.

There are far too many Americans who have drunk the MAGA Kool-Aid. For them its a win just to disrupt the election. Remember that Republican initiatives aren't really to make elections fair - it's to make them go their way.

This mid-term will be the make or break election of American democracy.

Without consulting it, I can guess that there is. As I (and many elsewhere) have pointed out repeatedly, the parchment isn't self-enforcing and opposition to executive action is required of the other two branches and/or the states when the executive breaches the conditions of the parchment. In this case, I doubt states that don't want to comply, will comply. The election infrastructure of a state isn't a federal institution. It's an empty threat.

Or by individuals/groups with enough resources and stamina to litigate it to the hilt.

Likely.
It's an empty threat.
Likely at a practical level, but as political narrative, what it reveals about the speaker counts optically as well.

I count that as one of the two branches. Courts can't act until someone brings a matter before them. I assume (have assumed for a long time) that if Democrats aren't acting with effect on a matter of executive overreach, it's because they don't actually object to the encroachment of the executive into whatever is being encroached upon. Meanwhile, it's milked for political effect (outrage).

Trump's latest outrageous statement has been priced into US politics for so long that I doubt it has much impact anywhere that matters. Everyone who doesn't like Trump winds himself up again, and everyone who likes Trump ignores it.

Make weather a surprise again.

Trump admin is pulling supercomputers out of key weather and climate research center

The computing center, which is slated to be turned over to an unspecified third party, runs weather and climate research models and is used by about 1,500 researchers from over 500 universities around the country. The work done on this supercomputer benefits the American people by leading to more accurate forecasts of extreme weather and climate events, aircraft turbulence and more.

Meh, I expect someone to come along and tell us weather and climate forecasting is woke and not really needed…

Why would you need a super computer when the weatherman can just tell you on the six o’clock news right?
Only woke people need forecasts, based people don't let the weather tell them when it's safe to fly.
