Trump administration 2024-2028

I can understand 'anger' but what are they 'uncomfortable' about? I've been having to drive down to rural, small town PA since my daughter started playing soccer at a US university back in August and I have to say that we've not have any issues at all.

I believe that you're heading to Boston, I place that I know very well since I've lived there in the past and my wife is from there and lived there for 20 odd years. Boston is one of the few large cities, the other being Seattle, where I think you will be overall welcomed as a Canadian and will find things to be as there were 2+ yrs ago. I might be wrong of course and you might come across an asshat or two, but I really don't think you'll have anything to worry about.

I know many are apprehensive about the US in general. For them its mostly personal politics. And that's the reason we lost so many people.

I am not keen to go down myself. But I am the club president...

Considering the number of stories going around of people with valid documentation to be in American being nonetheless apprehended and detained by ICE, I can see a bunch more people avoiding airports now for fear of being arbitrarily detained (or even just harassed) by ICE. If even they put out a very clear bulletin that "ICE Agents will NOT be doing "ICE" duties and will only be doing security screening", people won't trust them and will avoid airports out of fear.
I think that might be the point.

Good ole Mass. First on the list for the 11th province 😉

100% understand about the personal politics. We 'have' to go and visit our daughter and wanted to watch her play during her first year on the team. We do not go out of our way to do any extra shopping or sightseeing while we are there and we only go down for 1 night to watch the game and then head home, no 'extra' money is being spent down there as that's our choice.

We've not had a single conversation with any of the other parents on the team (only my daughter and another girl, who played with my daughter back in Canada before going down to the US together, are the only non-Americans on the team) about the present state of politics between the 2 countries. Its been very nice in not having to deal with this when talking with other parents, they are all very friendly and do not in any way make us feel uncomfortable. It may also help that the team's Coach is British (Welsh) and enjoys talking with ' the Canadians' whenever we are down there.

100%, add in Vermont and Maine. NH not so sure about. RI would be a flip of the coin and CT would split along an east-west line, with the east side 'wanting to join' and the western side maybe not so much.

The various enforcement agents all live in and around Bellingham/Seattle area, where a lot of businesses are tied to Canadian spending. I think they have been told that "We need Canadians to come and spend", So they seem to be better behaved than elsewhere.
