Trump administration 2024-2028

Seems to be a lot of chatter today that Rubio may quit soon to put as much distance between himself and Trump/MAGA for a 2028 run.

Yes. But will he give up all these other jobs? (Left winger for the Maple Leafs included)

Fun fact - the last Democratic senator from Kansas was born in 1870 and held the office in the 1930s...I think this was a bigger swing than some here are alluding.

Biggest vote margin (13%) since Watergate (16%) and people here are pretending it's just some slight dissatisfaction with the current administration. That's straight cope. So are the fantasies that a whole bunch of red state Democrats are going to let the socialists run wild. I guess the terminally online who get their perception of reality from Twitter need some crutch as their worldview recalibrates to reality.

Hopefully one or more Democrats know history, and realize that from Ford pardoning Nixon to Reagan's election was seventy three months and twenty seven days.

"2026 was not simply a blue wave, it was a blue tsunami. It was an ass-kicking. It was not simply a bad midterm election, it was a Watergate level repudiation, our voters rejected our candidates" - Ted Cruz
Too bad Cruz wasn’t on the ballot; I’m guessing he wouldn’t survive. The Hispanic & younger voters have shown enough of the lies. Time for a new generation

It won't. The Democrats ran a handful of candidates with ideas that are odious to the American centre, and overperformed expectations. The moderates have already been nervously caving to the extremists in the hope that they'll get eaten last in the primaries. They're going all-in.
Which would be a dream come true for Canadian progressives.

NY judges appear split on upholding Trump’s Manhattan criminal conviction

The panel of New York state appeals court judges heard arguments Thursday, but haven’t ruled.

A panel of New York state appeals court judges appeared split Thursday on whether to uphold President Donald Trump’s criminal conviction for a hush-money scheme to cover up an alleged affair with Stormy Daniels.

Arguing before a five-judge panel at the First Department, Appellate Division, Trump lawyer Robert Giuffra and an attorney from the Manhattan district attorney’s office sparred over prosecutors’ use of an alleged violation of federal election law to elevate what might have been a misdemeanor violation to a felony charge.
