Turkey Day is upon us

Thanksgiving weekend quickly approaches. What have you done or are going to do in preparation for the avian apocalypse?

Pulled frozen dead bird from freezer...figuring out who's showing up or not (15 yo still MIA - more food for us or guests now  ;D)...doing an ER shift Saturday, so will help the community out some who do some overindulging prior to...MTF.

I and my great uncle will be heading out into the brush around the family land tomorrow. Hopefully this year will turn out as bountiful as the last (picture up top).

Friend of the family's invited us for heaping amounts of roast beast, stuffing and veg, followed by home baking and lounging.  I'm bringing home-made bread.

DH is coming down to Windsor from Ottawa, for what will probably be the last visit before the end of "semester" on course. We have to run to the US to get a document notarized (long story), and while there, will get Lebanese for lunch in Dearborn, and do some grocery shopping. Other than that, though, the only plans for the weekend are movies and lasagna

We're going with ham this year. Something a little different, but still within the tradition of Thanksgiving. We'll still have all the trimmings, and pumpkin pie!
