U.S. Annexing Canada (split fm Liberal Minority thread)

It might be a pedantic point but no CAF oath, commissioning script or scroll etc. has anything to do with the executive branch of our government. The loyalty given in the oath and expected is to the Crown. The loyalty is not to the prime minister or cabinet it’s to the King.

It is theoretically possible for a situation to arise where the CAF would have to take a stand against the executive branch in favour of the King and the country.
Despite the increasing power of the prime minister, the position is also subservient to the crown… technically.
My point above essentially.

I swore an oath to the crown of Canada, and not to the carbon unit and its political party currently heading the government of Canada.

May I also add that the current PM and his Chief of Staff display all the attributes of toxicity that the CAF is moving heaven and earth to remove from our midsts.

That's what I find really interesting about this.

Many of us will say uniformed members are duty bound (you swore an oath of allegiance et el) to support the government, regardless of your personal thoughts and feelings. (I personally think this way)

In this hypothetical 51st state situation how many of those (us) same people would turn around and say we need to defy the government IF the government capitulated and supported being annexed by the US?

that ARE still serving, they aren’t exactly shy about voicing their agreement with #51ststate. Open profiles, pictures of them in uniform. Call the MPs! Get the traitors!

You actually should report that behavior if they're doing it in uniform. IMO that's no different than a soldier openly welcoming being annexed by China or Russia.

dimsum is very concerned with random internet user posts who could very well be retired, along with their unhealthy obsession with anything trump and musk in the other thread.
Sure, they could be retired. But when their posts specifically say that they are still serving, why would a retired person say that?

Re: Trump / Musk - besides the whole quote about “sleeping next to an elephant”, maybe not all CAF members serve in Canada - so the change isn’t a hypothetical “that country over there” issue.

I will say though, I still have plenty of people I keep in contact with that ARE still serving, they aren’t exactly shy about voicing their agreement with #51ststate. Open profiles, pictures of them in uniform. Call the MPs! Get the traitors!
One of the first lessons is not to say controversial things in uniform, including on social media. People have been charged for that.

US annexing Canada was a fun hypothetical but when Trudeau/Singh get their walking papers, the 51st state nonsense will disappear.
Willing to bet on that?

Anytime I see a F**k Trudeau flag, I kinda wonder how some people would respond to the same level of disrespect was shown to a future PMPP. I'm sure everyone would be comfortable with a similar level and tone of disagreement, right? For sure Team Red's 100% been pretty broad brush in some of its criticisms, but if we all seem to be able to be comfortable with "F**k the PM" flags for one PM, one hopes we can also be comfortable with the same for any PM, right?
If PM Pierre P blows it on integrity, accountability and transparency, and gets caught with even a 1/10th of the shenanigans Trudeau has, I will be the first one calling for his political career to end pronto. If AT THAT time I see F*k PP flags, so be it, he will have earned it.

Not IN uniform. Its not like they’re busking outside a Walmart.

They wouldn’t. But the uniformed guy getting called out would certainly frame it that way for damage control purposes when called out on it.

Especially when some claim to know plenty that would welcome it.

it is clear that for some people it is not hypothetical at all.

But, the trump stuff from trump/musk is trolling for reaction.

So this brings up a great discussion about what is considered “in uniform” for CAF members.

If someone says that they’re a serving CAF member on their social media page, with or without a profile picture in uniform, and makes posts / comments contrary to the govt, how much would they be able to defend saying that it’s a personal comment, not reflective of the CAF?

Don’t care no more. Let the circus deal with its clowns.

Well I don’t know about you, but I personally don’t like getting charged.

By your recent comments I’m getting the feeling you’re no longer in the CAF.

Stay off tiktok making videos in uniform. There are all kinds of anti-CAF/canada comments for various issues on FB, X and insta from users clearly still serving. Will the CAF go after each user?

I am dead set against annexation, and if a government capitulated I’d defend the nation against the attempts of takeove. ( however punitive they may be)

More hypotheticals from X gaining traction:

Trump doesn’t have to annex Canada.
-Deport all illegal migrants (50-100million people)
-offer working class Canadians (be it citizens or naturally born) direct US citizenship
-one for one exchange of CAD to USD.

I would consider this, especially if I could find a quiet place in Montana to hunt rabbits.

Hypothetically, my oath is to the previous regime, not the inevitable puppet regime to follow. My oath is to the King, not to any President. I will gladly fight what is sure to be a Vichy government. It would be treasonous to support the new government of quislings.
