Yeah, people like U.S. Senator Bob Menendez are proof positive that the U.S. government is in safe hands.Nevermind there is zero history of senators and congressmen being bought off. It's strictly a Canadian issue and strictly left of centre.

What do Canadian politicians have to be scared of?So throw him out of office (legally) and send a message to all other politicians, hopefully scaring them that Canada and Canadians must come first.
It’s the automotive equivalent of the Flowbee…My brother in law purchased one right after getting out of high school. There were so many flaws, breakdowns and bad engineering designs that he got rid of it very quickly.
I don’t necessarily agree with you that it benefits him so much financially. Rather I think he is predisposed to the belief that totalitarian leftist (but not right wing) governments work for the benefit of all. And I see the PMO, as an extension of him, working to make it the same in Canada. I believe he is incapable of thinking outside the little box he has encased himself in. So throw him out of office (legally) and send a message to all other politicians, hopefully scaring them that Canada and Canadians must come first.
I wouldn't even say power.I never mentioned financially. I think JT is more about power than money.
From what I’ve seen and read about his recent interviews was that he blames his unpopularity on disinformation from nefarious sources and Tory lies. There may be some of that, but I think a critical mass of former Trudeau voters had the scales fall from their eyes on this guy’s incompetence and lack of seriousness for the job, as well as all of the crises his government had a direct hand in causing.I wouldn't even say power.
Adoration. To be liked. To be the centre of attention. To be depended on.
It's why the "F*ck Trudeau" stuff has gotten under his skin. Its why he clings to the belief that he can turn things around in 10ish months. He still has some support, so that gives him the deluded belief that he can win over folks like in 2015.
It looks a lot like this though:
That drive for adoration can also be seen as narcissism and thus see projection of personal flaws as being attacked. From what I’ve seen and read about his recent interviews was that he blames his unpopularity on disinformation from nefarious sources and Tory lies.
Bingo. He has not been accountable for anything that has gone belly up in his tenure. There may be some of that, but I think a critical mass of former Trudeau voters had the scales fall from their eyes on this guy’s incompetence and lack of seriousness for the job, as well as all of the crises his government had a direct hand in causing.
This guy is absolutely clueless.
Its that support that I am truly confused about. Trudeau has had an astounding amount of support from the smarter bears in the Forest, namely the educated, multi tasking, bosses of our World the Women. I get the beauty and the Beast theory's why they like him . Trudeau is that squishy Soy Male "Oh I can tame him" . He has proven to be however the waiter that gets the order wrong, the pool Boy who does not know how to clean the pool and the Rich date that never pays or phones back. WTF Girls.I wouldn't even say power.

Other than not getting re-elected, f**k all. What do Canadian politicians have to be scared of?
RCMP documents show Trudeau blocked their investigation into his SNC Lavalin involvement
My apologies on that. And you’re right…for Justin it is more about power than money. Besides, his Laurentian Elite buddies will ensure he’s financially very comfortable for the rest of his life.I never mentioned financially. I think JT is more about power than money.
Rant over… I’ve been avoiding political commentary since the US election, it’s not healthy for my brain.
This is my take. It's not meant to create an argument. You can all think what you wish and cling to whatever belief you have.
Trump is trolling trudeau. He enjoys doing it and reportedly laughs his ass off when he writes those tweets. Canadians are just taking it too personal. If it wasn't for sock boy, he wouldn't be tweeting what he is tweeting. Trump has dealt with lying, backstabbing, talk behind your back, whisper campaign weasels before. Trudeau is no challenge to Trump. However, he does like to make them twist in the wind.
The 25% tariffs are nothing more than him starting eventual trade negotiations by coming in big and giving himself lots of room to negotiate down. In business, you always go for the win, win. Now he's established his upper limit, he can start coming down in points and accept some ideas from Canada. Both sides get most of what they want, or an equitable share. Canada will think they won by being shrewd, when in reality, it's likely pretty close to what Trump was willing to give up all the time. Win, win. His plan is already paying dividends, he likes what he sees from our Premieres.
PP has signaled he's in step with Trumps plan and ideas. I doubt trudeau or the liberals have the time or the inclination to enter into talks. Trudeau, if he's around, would probably try so he can sell us down the river before he leaves. But I doubt he'd get much attention from the US. Trump’s Republicans hate trudeau as much as we do. Just because trudeau might want to start talks, doesn't mean the US is bound by convention to reciprocate.
To quote some historical pulp book author, Much Ado About Nothing.
Whatever happens, it won't happen overnight and there will be plenty of time to respond.
Quit worrying and enjoy your holidays.
Baz, I would quibble with one aspect of your post. The only person who gives advice to the Crown is the Prime Minister. The leader of his majesty’s loyal opposition only has two jobs- to oppose and to be prepared to form government. How they go about it is their business. I would prefer a more sober opposition, but we are in performative times. When Trudeau first got elected I said something like “it’s not him that concerns, it’s that we haven’t really elected him, but rather the old guard of the Liberal party.” As reprinted ultimately by Butts, Telford, et al. He was just a well known pretty poster boy.
Problem is, that old guard not only thinks they have a right to govern, but they know what’s best as well. The term Laurentide Elite certainly applies.
Having said that, I have concerns about PP. Firstly, there isn’t a lot of potatoes in his pot of solutions… a lot of what he’s going to fix but not a lot of how. Kind of like his magical “common sense” will fix what ails us, and it is so common sensical he doesn’t even need to tell us what it is.
Secondly, we’re a parliamentary federation, and he’s supposed to lead the party, the opposition, and eventually the government. Every time I here him say “I’ll do this” or “my plan to” I wonder if he even knows how our government works.
Or put another way, the worry is he’ll continue to entrench power in the PMO the way Trudeau the elder started, Harper solidified, and Trudeau the younger enabled.
Oh, and by the way, the role of the opposition isn’t supposed to be taglines, jokes, and slanders. It’s supposed to bringing up policy shortcomings and other solutions. The original aim was to provide sound advice to the crown.
But those times are obviously history.
Fishbone Jones.
I think you are correct about Trump.
And this is what makes me sad. Anyone who thinks businessmen are natural leaders ignore the reality.
Trump does what is best for Trump. If it happens to be best for America then isn’t that fortunate. But he has enabled a turn away from leadership towards decisiveness. U don’t think it will end well.
In Canada, PP has taken up that torch. Trudeau isn’t his father (whom I also don’t like), and just parroted it back because he doesn’t know how to do anything else.
