U.S. Annexing Canada (split fm Liberal Minority thread)

Give it another day and you'll be able to buy those same hats on Aliexpress for 8$ instead of the 55$ that they are selling for on the companies website. Also note that the hat is made in either Vietnam or Bangladesh and maybe, maybe the stitching is done here in Canada.
Well it’s been another day and sales are still coming in. They made 500K in sales in 24hrs.

20k hats sold. Not too shabby for a plug from Doug Ford.

That's all the frail kids on reddit who are bragging about how they'll fight the US military.
That’s also the demographic that we’re trying to get to join the CAF (and the US to join their military, etc)… :ROFLMAO:

I’m an older Millennial (depending what year you’re using to count the shift between Gen X and Millennial), and I very much remember how “Millennials are too soft to fight in a war”. Then Afghanistan happened.

Half of us will want the old FNC1s and the other will want the C7 and its variants......

I just picked up an AIA Enfield in .308. Im taking that with SP ammo.

The thing is it’s not just Canadian kids who are seemingly “soft”. The US military and our allies are also struggling to recruit. They are not magically more “tough” than Canadian kids.

LOL American kids would provide the mosquitoes and black flies with lots of meat 😄. They're even more obese than the Canadian kids.

They wouldn't be able to hold the FN 😄

C7A2 weighs just as much. Only the original C7 was lighter

How much does that thing weigh once you have all the after market toys added to it? Sights, flashlights, hand grips, LRFs, laser projectors....

And don't forget the bayonet

Interesting article from Reg Varney.

Here's a thought:

Supply goes up. Cost goes down.
Price goes up. Demand goes down.

So.

Trump imposes a 25% tariff on Canadian oil. Demand for Canadian oil drops. Alberta takes in less money. Quebec receives less equalization.
Trump doesn't impose a 25% tariff but instead increases the supply of US oil. Demand for Canadian oil drops. Alberta takes in less money. Quebec receives less equalization.

Net effect is the same.

Solution is the same for Canada. Find other customers.

A couple of graphs charting the price of Alberta oil (WCS) - As high as 120 USD per barrel to as low as 5 USD per barrel. With massive volatility.

Assume a projected value of 50 USD per barrel. Add a 25% tariff to that and the price rises to 62 USD per barrel. The Yanks were paying more than that in the Obama years. Conversely, Alberta eats the tariff and only gets 37 USD per barrel. Pretty much what it got during the last Trump years.

...

These are annoyances. Not reasons to dissolve the country.
