If anyone here is a bit of a SME on Urban Patrolling please PM me as I am trying to do a lecture on it sometime this week, and I'm not sure if there is a PAM already out there as I know our Library hasn't one.

It's just some minor stuff that I think I already have covered but hey you never know if there is a person on here with a lot more "experience" then I have.

Have you gone through the Army Lessons Learned site yet?
http://armyapp.dnd.ca/allc/main.asp

JM

I hadn't thought of that...

However the page seem's to be down as after I click on english or even french I get the internal server error page.

Let me know if this doesn't work, and I'll download it and email it to you:

I can't seem to open their "Bulletins" just now. There could be something in there as well, but you'd have to open most of them since they're not very well titled.

Thanks JM,

Worked just fine, I appreciate your help.

PS: You keep making me look good and I might find myself with a real career to manage and a chance (oh lord how the Army will have fallen) at promotion and everything  ;D

Im looking for an appropriate kit list for urban ops.  Mostly pertaining to Base Defence Force issues.  Can anyone help?

Check the above link it has many Needed and useful items for urban operations.

im looking for more of "what to pack into your TacVest", i was hoping there might be some doorkickers out there who might help.
i did check the LL manual, and yes there is some valuable info in there, but not what i was hoping for.
still fishing.

Peronally, I find chocolate bars fit nicely in your mag pouches.  Although a snickers size
bar makes you reach just a bit TOO far down and can be hard to get out.  Mr. Big is also
too large and kit kat too wide.  Need like a 3 musketeers sized bar.

I put all smaller candy in my C-9 ammo pouch, (for handing out to troops of course)
to keep up morale.  ;)

They won't even let me have a bayonet,.. I'd love to find a chocolate bar or type
of candy (packaged) that would fit perfectly there... just for sheer fun!  ;)

You plug two batteries together and they heat up. Do not remember the technical explanation.

Are the savages using thermal optics now?

Depending on your mission- breaching tools, urban hide kit, many grenades, DDs, low powered optics to locate en...

The thermal signature is for our guys that are supporting the people breaching, be it by the LAV or RG-31 thermal sight or handheld thermal sight.

what about IR glowsticks?  arent they just as effective?  or can you not see them with night vision only IR goggles?

The difference between using batteries for a thermal image and IR glowsticks is about 3-4 microns (wavelength-wise).
