US Army divesting 8% of Blackhawk Fleet

Way too much power and the form factor wouldn’t even work. One T901 is 150-200+% the output of an entire T400/PT6T-3DE TwinPac.

Solution, offer Bell Mirable a contract to paste their registration number onto a clipboard the Pilot of a Blackhawk is given.
Wonder how hard the airworthiness paperwork would be to replace the builders plate of an aircraft with one from a different type you’re retiring. It should be possible, aircraft have been completely rebuilt around the builders plate…

Right!?!

Well a lot of your equipment maintenance issues are from having to use them without enough maintenance. Larger fleets could alleviate that issue.

WRT your infrastructure issues, that’s been decades of decaying.
Not really, a lot of it is from chronic underfunding of maintenance and parts budgets, as well as overprogramming equipment without considering maintenance. This would just be another asset to overprogram and not maintain properly.

You are being overly hard on the CAF, as I have seen equipment in Militaries that do that, and it doesn’t last nearly like the CAF stuff does.

I understand your point - but I believe that is a symptom not a primary cause.

Our saving grace is we have a lot of good techs that are good at workarounds, and we previously also tended to go overboard on the build and design standards side of things, so things take a beating before falling apart.
