US Presidential Election 2024 - Trump vs Harris - Vote Hard with a Vengence

I know people who swear to this day that Ivermectin cured them.

Or they got better.

I know some people who have been saying natural immunity is no good and that its best to close the outdoors to prevent the spread of a viral infection.

Your response tells me you're just another victim of corrupt establishment and media lies.
Well, unless you count these sources as part of the "corrupt establishment," on the whole 2020 injection fracas, here's what was said, via CSpan ....
... and here's what was said from the POTUS45 White House archives (link also archived here):

Anyone who actually watched that presser knows it went down like explained here:

Coming back to #WordsMatter, your fact check may be correct about drinking bleach, but so is this one on injecting disinfectant ....

Not quite as clear cut as either of these memes, right? ;)

If you say so. This level of over analysis is why we can't every have nice things.
Hey, I keep seeing all over the socials that we should know history as it really was and not sugar coated, even if it hurts, bothers or upsets us, so just doin' my part :)

Americans (in general) are not known for sarcasm. This is the country that had folks clutching pearls about litter boxes in classrooms for kids.

In this time of hyper-partisanship, even if those two were joking (which I doubt), there are folks on the GOP supporters side who would think it was real. Sarcasm only works if all sides of the joke know that it’s a joke.
Why not? The whole of the democrats believe it. Of course they started it all by parsing a comment and then falsely speaking it in the fawning liberal media. The shirts are sarcasm, something I know from decades of being with Americans, that they do know well. Sarcasm is not lost on them.

So I’m guessing the 74% of GOP supporters surveyed in Feb were being sarcastic then.

One day. The same as most Presidents. They spend the first day signing stacks of Executive Orders. Basically dictating their starting positions. They are not Maduro or Jinping.

Here is the actual wording of that exchange.

Trump, referring to Hannity: "We love this guy. He says, ‘You are not going to be a dictator, are you?’ I said, ‘No, no, no, other than Day 1.’ We are closing the border and we are drilling, drilling, drilling. After that I am not a dictator, OK?"

And yes Republicans agreed, with the complete quote, not the leftist edited one. See, they do understand sarcasm.😉

For the anti-Trumpers hanging their hat on the "34 felony convictions", Andrew McCarthy's analysis suggest you may have some real great news in the short term:

Meh. First time (albeit multiple) offender, white collar offense, lowest class of felony. Very possible he sees no prison time. I’m not sure if the pre-sentencing recommendations from prosecution or defense will be publicly docketed before the decision date. It will come down to how persuasive the judge finds arguments of aggravating circumstances.

If this happens I predict Trump's popularity to get another bump and ultimately everything dumped on appeal. Due to the obvious electoral implications SCOTUS may even intervene right after sentencing.

I doubt there are many, if any, unpersuaded voters left who would be swayed to supporting Trump by a carceral sentence. Anyone inclined to think he’s a victim and being hard done by likely made that call ages ago.

I would be surprised to see SCOTUS intervene without exhausting the levels of appeal in between. With September sentencing and an early November election, there’s time, even if would be a rush. Courts can deal with rushes on occasion.

Are you sure he didn’t mean someone would be taking dictation on day one? Since (again) clarity is lacking, and “they KNOW what he means” seems to be the standard, your interpretation, this one and those who take “dictator” to mean one-dude-rule could all apply to this summary …

Since you’re worried about how the left edits, where’s this summary coming from? That’s also what this right-ish think tank says he said …
… and even they say he doesn’t quite get how things work.

Or should we also go by the “we know what he really means” about Trudeau’s comments about boxed water, which does exist? ;)

Either words matter for everyone and people that are slack in their words get called on them, or they don’t for anyone (edpecially those we agree with) and we keep bitching about how reality gets distorted all over the place just because of politics & the media.

Here's your summary. Including how the left edited by omission.

I have opinions, you have opinions, the think tank stuff is someone's opinion.

I'm not interested in trudeau's marble mouth mutterings. As my opinion of him is that he can't talk without lying or being a marxist ass, my opinion of him is highly biased. I'll reserve topical comments on him to his own thread.

Rightish think tank? What is that? Since this is your description, where did you get the proof of this?

According to their website, they seem to go to great lengths to stay as neutral as possible.

So when are we going to hold Biden, Harris and Walz to the same standard as your last paragraph? Where is the Democrat bashing threads? Certainly there are plenty of mispeaks, verbal gaffes and outright lies we could apply your rules to, in their cases.

Edit to add - even a CNN writers opinion seems to show what an idiotic claim of Trump being a dictator actually is.

I'd like to see the stigma on nuclear dissappear and a huge ramp up of new reactors. Yes, we bury the waste but we also bury our decommissioned windmill and solar panel waste too. And much, much closer to the surface than nuclear waste.
