So, I see they updated the amount we will get in the new year from VAC in the MyVAC portal. I ran the numbers and it is a 6.61% increase as of 1 Jan 23. The year-over-year CPI change Oct 21 to Oct 22 was 6.9%…adjusted up 0.1 as per their policy…they are short changing veterans 0.39%. For me that means around $800 this year alone, and over $1k if my reassessments go through.

FYI the Americans are getting a blank 8.7% increase this Jan and they already make significantly more for the same le of disability.

I got 6.6005%, presumably 6.6% and rounding

Yeah the government really hates to pay veterans. I have an eye condition that I am appealing for 10% which is rated at 60% on the American side. Our disability chart is absolutely stacked against us, then the payouts are lower to rub the salt in lol.

VA disability compensation is based on the veteran's disability rating and household.

100%. A US veteran with a wife and 2 kids at 50% disability gets the equivalent of about $1600CDN/month - while the Canadian at 50% gets about $650. It’s so obscene…

Just food for thought, my increase is 6.39%. So if it is suppose to be 6.9 +.1. I'm being short changed .61%.

Increase is based on monthly average CPI, as I understand - not Oct compared to Oct, but 12 month average in Oct compared to 12 month average the preceding Oct.

Just an update, curious if anyone else have experienced something similar.

Checking MYVAC today, my totals have changed, (increased) again.
Originally the difference from 2022 total was an increase of 6.39%. When I looked at it end of December.
Now its showing my increase at 7.28%
One possible explanation, is I was comparing Net Pay vs Net Pay and the tax brackets hadn't updated on VAC when I checked in december, but are now updated today.
I can't be sure though as I never saved a copy of the original projected rates for 2023.
If I compare gross 2022, to current 2023 numbers. The projected numbers are now 7.6 % (7.5999%)
Just curious if anyone else is seeing a change.
